Botox®, Dysport® & Nuceiva® in Kelowna
We offer Botox Cosmetic, Dysport Aesthetic and Nuceiva in Kelowna to temporarily soften expression lines.
THE KIWI APPROACH
These prescription neuromodulators use botulinum toxin type A to reduce nerve signals to selected facial muscles.
With less muscle contraction, the lines formed when you frown, smile or raise your eyebrows can soften.
Botox® Cosmetic
Botox Cosmetic is used for upper facial lines, including forehead lines, frown lines between the eyebrows and crow’s feet at the outer corners of the eyes.
Dysport® Aesthetic
Dysport Aesthetic treats moderate to severe frown lines and crow’s feet in adults under 65. It contains abobotulinumtoxinA, a different formulation from Botox Cosmetic.
Nuceiva®
Nuceiva contains prabotulinumtoxinA. It is used for moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows in adults under 65.

Common questions
How are neuromodulators different from dermal filler?
Neuromodulators soften expression lines by reducing selected muscle movements. Dermal filler adds volume or contour. They address different concerns, and your treatment plan may involve one, both or neither.
How do I choose between Botox, Dysport and Nuceiva?
The treatment area, your medical history and your response to previous injections help guide the choice. The products have different formulations, and their dosing units are not interchangeable. Your clinician explains the recommendation for you.
When will I start to see changes?
Changes develop over the days after treatment. For example, Dysport’s Canadian patient information reports a median onset of three days; some Nuceiva patients notice changes after two days. The timing varies by product and person, and the first change is not necessarily the full effect.
How long do the effects last?
The effects are temporary. Botox Cosmetic’s Canadian patient information describes an effect lasting about four months for upper facial lines. Duration varies with the product, treatment area and individual response; your clinician discusses when to review the result.
What recovery and side effects should I plan for?
Bruising, tenderness or swelling at injection sites and headache can occur. Eyelid or brow drooping is also possible. Follow your treating clinician’s aftercare instructions. Seek urgent medical care for difficulty swallowing, speaking or breathing after treatment.
What determines the cost of cosmetic injections?
The product, amount used and areas treated affect the cost. Kiwi confirms your proposed treatment and price before you decide to proceed.
