What can a BC pharmacist assess?
The provincial minor-ailments program covers these 21 conditions, as well as contraception. Eligibility and clinical criteria apply; the pharmacist may recommend another level of care.

Will I always receive a prescription?
No. The pharmacist assesses whether your concern fits the program and may recommend self-care, a non-prescription option, a prescription or referral to another clinician.
Is the assessment covered?
The BC program covers assessments for eligible BC residents with a Personal Health Number. Medication costs may be separate. Ask the pharmacy to confirm eligibility and coverage.
Do I need an appointment?
Kiwi recommends an appointment so the pharmacist can set aside time and privacy. Call the pharmacy for availability. Keep symptoms and health history for the private assessment.
